I was pulled into this very well researched novel, Virus: Strain of Islam: Biological Apocalypse in the USA , and found it hard to take a break. I thought the authors were very adept at arousing my feelings of being a potential victim in a bio-chemical attack situation as local, state and federal protocols kick in. How would my life, and the lives of others around me, change? I was surprised as I reflected on some current and past world events to discover how strongly I felt – fearful, helpless, angry, and with a need to find out more about this type of warfare in an urban setting. I was dumbfounded why an enemy would want to attack this way, and the complexity of cause through execution. This was an extremely provocative read for me; more than just a novel. Having served in the military and received training in bio-chemical and radioactive protective measures, I thought there were occasional fine lines between reality and story line. I believe, the authors evoked a visceral reaction regarding, not just the possibility, but the reality of a bio-terrorist attack in our time. Lastly, it is reassuring to think that we, as a country, would not go silently into the night.Product details

I really enjoyed reading this book. I have very little free time and found myself creating time to pick up the book to read. I was hooked into the story right away. The story line was interesting and sadly plausible. Imagining if something like this could happen and then being exposed to the behind the scenes of what would be going on helped create a full bodied, interesting story line. Would love for this series to continue. I want to know what happened to Max, his daughters, Boo and Haystack!!!!
This is a great read and made me wish that the authors were actually in a position of power and could make some things happen.
Excellent story. Well written and thought out first in a series. All threads flow in together proving a believable fast paced storyline. Looking forward to the next book.
This was a fun fast paced story with a lot going on and several characters involved. I didn't want to put this book down! I read it rather quickly. I would give it 4 to 4.5 stars, mainly because of the editing and grammar mistakes, but I rounded it up to five stars.
I would recommend this book
The story begins with a good amount of intensity. The two primary "heros" of the story a presented with a bit of humor in their interactions. However there did not seem to be a great deal of real character development as the story developed. Some of the characters seemed to be more cardboard and superficial in their presentation.
Also, with regards to the final resolution to dealing with the terrorists, I felt that the actions taken were greatly unrealistic Granted that the United States was attacked in a vicious manner. However I could not see the response to the terrorists as was presented in the ending. The U.S. response was how we might viscerally want to act as opposed to how we would more intelligently act.
There was also a need for better editing throughout the book.
The author had a solid, exciting premise but he definitely needs to stop "telling" us the story and start "sbowing" us through dialogue and action. I'm a voracious reader of apocalyptic fiction and enjoyed the autbhor's marriage of two viruses (Ebola & Zika) to make the novel timely, but the characters read flat & a bit contrived. They needed a bit more depth I have to admit that i was more than little turned off by the blatant conservative polital bent to the story (exmple everyone who watches MSNBC is worried only about abortion rights and everyone who watches Info wars is smart & totally ready to survive a major crisis) . Talk about stereotypes! Way to limited in insight and openness to the infinite shades of grey in the human population.
I enjoyed reading the e-book Virus Strain of Islam Biological Apocalypse in the USA. This e-book is fast-paced and choppy in parts as the authors move back and forth in time, and between the various actors. The various actors the United States President, the various American political entities, Max and the other American fixers, and the various terror groups move around almost like chess pieces on a chess board. This book leaves you wondering could this really happen? The president is decisive and understands that his action may lead to his impeachment. The terrorists seem to believe that they cannot be found and punished. The heroes are virtuous, and the leaders of the enemies lacked virtue and tended to be cowards. There were several loose ends, so I suspect there will be a book two. I was so impressed with the story, and since I cannot wait for the sequel, I just bought the first book in the Vigilante series by Cliff Deane.
